The squad were given two days off on Sunday 23 and Monday 24, then reported back on Tuesday 25 at Ninho do Urubu. According to Coluna Do Fla, Wednesday 26 brings a morning session at 10:00 Brasília time under Jardim.

This midweek hosts the first legs of the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals, and Flamengo are not involved after going out to Vitória. The schedule leaves Jardim with seven days to fine-tune his side for the clássico with Botafogo.

The loss kept Flamengo on 45 points in the Brasileirão. Palmeiras beat Vasco to move to 51, restoring a six-point gap, though they have played one game more.

Flamengo host Botafogo at the Maracanã on Sunday 30, kick-off 16:00 Brasília time, in round 25. Rede Globo will show the match live, with GE TV on YouTube and Premiere also broadcasting.
