The Juventus Women’s First Team continued what was a good day for the Club, though this time on the pitch as the Bianconere went away to Seregno and claimed a 2-0 win over Como Women on Serie A Matchday 13.
Estela Carbonell and Paulina Krumbiegel scored in either half to seal the points.
Como came out strong from the off and looked to pose problems for the Bianconere. First, it was Nadine Nischler who single-handedly drove them on and forced a save out of Danielle de Jong.
The Bianconere looked to react at the other end, and Lia Walti tried her luck but without finding the target from range. Later, and with Cristiana Girelli trying to find space, it was Sophie Howard who sniffed out the danger and intercepted before the no.10 could do damage.
Before the break, though, the Bianconere got themselves in front. Walti was involved and her quality allowed Estela Carbonell to find some space in the box. From the left of the area, her effort defelcted up and over Astrid Gilardi to open the scoring.
The hosts looked to level after the restart, and De Jong had to be alert again to deny Fortesa Berisha’s headed effort.
Tatiana Pinto came within inches of a fine second but her shot was just off picking out the top corner, and Amalie Vangsgaard came close as well.
But the second arrived in the 81st minute when Lindsey Thomas picked out fellow second-half introduction Paulina Krumbiegel with a cross, and she made no mistake in sealing the points.
