According to L'Équipe, former Rennes defender Arthur Theate could return to Bologna in Serie A this season, with Nottingham Forest also attempting to strike a deal.
Theate, 26 and under contract until 2029, will not stay at Eintracht Frankfurt and is set to leave Germany in the coming days, though his destination remains undecided.

Several days ago, Atletico Madrid submitted a loan proposal with a near-automatic €16m option to buy, which Frankfurt rejected.
In recent days Bologna and Nottingham Forest have been in contact with Frankfurt to explore a solution.
Bologna, where Theate spent 2021-22 on loan, are believed to hold a slight lead and could complete a move late in the window.
