COPE reports that Getafe and José Bordalás have reached a verbal agreement for him to stay for a further two years, with only official confirmation outstanding.
His future had been the subject of intense speculation. The Getafe coach was out of contract and appeared on shortlists for next season, from Espanyol with Monchi at the helm to Osasuna as replacement for the departing Liscí.
The Alicante-born manager has approved the proposal from club president Ángel Torres, keeping continuity for a project that will compete in Europe after qualifying for the Conference League.
Both parties are already working on the final contract details to formalise his stay on the Coliseum bench. Negotiations accelerated in recent hours, with contacts from early Tuesday between Getafe, the coach's representatives and Bordalás.
The harmony between club and coach has proved decisive in bringing talks to a positive conclusion. Getafe consider his continuity a priority after a season that returned the team to continental competition, placing the renewal high on the post-season agenda.
