Bordeaux condemned the French federation’s executive committee after it refused to re-examine their case or admit the club to National 2, a decision that left the Girondins in Régional 1.
The club said in a statement that it was scandalised, challenging both the ruling and the way it was reached.
The communiqué maintains that no decision was actually taken because the executive committee neither deliberated on the request nor held a vote, and that the file was not properly examined.
On substance, Bordeaux call the sanction disproportionate, arguing a club founded in 1881 and six-time French champions should not be pushed towards liquidation after a meeting lasting only a few minutes.
The statement cites an enforceable judgment confirming solvency, a fully funded season and the backing of a committed investor, and argues that a 10-day delay in providing funds, since resolved, does not warrant such severity.
Bordeaux now seek to be heard by the executive committee then the DNCG, and say they will pursue all available legal avenues to have the case reviewed.
