Bordeaux have extended two of last season’s key players ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, where promotion to Ligue 3, formerly National, is the sole target. The club said in a statement that the pair had agreed new deals.

Matthieu Villette’s renewal was confirmed first. The forward scored 11 in 21 National 2 matches, 13 in all competitions, and was central to their second-place finish.

Guillaume Odru has also signed on. The midfielder featured in 29 of 35 possible games this season.

The renewals strengthen a squad looking to rebound after another failed attempt to go up, with the Girondins pursuing a return to professional football.

A preliminary agreement is understood to have been reached for a sale to an English investment fund, though nothing has been made official.
