Bradley Barcola’s €140m move from PSG to Liverpool was confirmed on Monday, and FIFA’s solidarity mechanism means Lyon are set to receive close to five million euros.

According to L’Équipe, Lyon should collect 3.5% of the fee, about €4.9m. Barcola, from Villeurbanne, joined Lyon’s academy at eight.

For an OL searching for liquidity, the incoming sum is timely.

The forward was sold by Lyon to PSG in 2023 for €45m.

Had Barcola still been at Lyon for this transfer, the club would have received the full solidarity payment, around €7m.
