Brighton could have new signing Jaouen Hadjam involved for Sunday’s Premier League trip to Chelsea following his arrival from Young Boys.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, the left-back joined this week in a £9.5 million deal.

He was not part of the group training ahead of the Conference League play-off second leg at home to Tromso, but could be incorporated as attention switches back to the league.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said the defender has already shown he can play at the highest level, mostly at the World Cup, while stressing that quick adaptation to the Premier League and Albion’s intensity will be important.

Hurzeler described Hadjam as hard-working and humble, seeing him as a strong fit on and off the pitch, and added that he hopes the player can help immediately while the club allow him to settle.
