Brighton ended deadline night without confirming a move for Millwall winger Femi Azeez, despite a late hint of further business.

According to TheArgus.co.uk, Azeez was seen at the Lancing training ground and the club posted on social media at about 1am, saying: “To be continued. See you in the morning Seagulls.”

Spain under-21s midfielder Chema Andres was announced from Stuttgart for £15.5 million, around half an hour after the official closure of the summer window. Azeez’s situation remained unresolved as 10 deal sheets were filed across the Premier League.

Chairman Tony Bloom traditionally aims to conclude business early. Most summer additions followed that pattern, with four defenders and winger Zadok Yohanna arriving early in the window.

Late movement still arrived, starting with Promise David two weeks ago, then Jaouen Hadjam seven nights later. As the window moved into added time, a loan to Leicester for Kamari Doyle followed.

Fabian Hurzeler will now assess his resources after injuries to Georginio Rutter, Jack Hinshelwood, Yasin Ayari and Mats Wieffer, who went off late in Sunday’s 4-3 defeat at Chelsea.
