WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this evening.
England international goalkeeper Baggaley joined Brighton & Hove Albion after leaving former club Manchester United in summer 2023. She has made 42 appearances for the Sussex side in all competitions.
Midfielder Bance is a product of the Brighton & Hove Albion academy system. She has gone on to make 27 appearances for The Seagulls at senior level. The player has struggled for opportunities in recent seasons and has spent time out on loan to build her experience.
After Baggaley and Bance’s exits were confirmed, Brighton & Hove Albion’s women’s and girls’ managing director Zoe Johnson said “It is always tough to part ways with players who have given so much to the badge. These individuals have made a defining contribution during their time here.
“Sophie was central to our historic fifth-place finish in 2024/2025 and played a massive role in taking us to our first-ever FA Cup final.
“Libby’s journey through the Albion academy is a testament to her incredible work ethic and professionalism. We are deeply grateful for their service and wish them every success moving forward.”
Brighton & Hove Albion ended the season with an Adobe Women’s FA Cup final appearance against Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday. The Cityzens won the match 4-0 as they claimed a league and cup double.
