Albion have reported a major water leak at the Amex and are preparing to re-seat supporters for the Bologna friendly if required. The club said in a statement that the issue affected the stadium’s northern section and that a clean-up is under way.

The clean-up is expected to be completed before the season opener against Aston Villa a week on Sunday. There is also hope that most of the affected areas will be ready for Saturday’s second home pre-season friendly against Bologna at three pm.

If any sections are not ready, a contingency is in place to relocate ticket-holders to alternative seats. Affected supporters will be contacted directly by close of play on Friday with an update.

An apology was issued for any inconvenience, with a welcome extended to supporters on Saturday.

Tickets for the North Stand remained on sale on Thursday afternoon. The South Stand is for away supporters only.
