Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his goal-scoring form to help Leeds United earn a point at the Gtech Community Stadium.
In what was a closely-contested game, the Bees thought they had an excellent opportunity to take the lead midway through the first half when Dango Ouattara fell under the challenge of Gabriel Gudmundsson.
It was a soft call but luckily for Leeds, Ouattara was fractionally offside and the penalty was overturned.
The visitors were probably the better of the two sides in the first period and certainly for the start of the second.
However, it was Brentford who took the lead in the 70th minute when Jordan Henderson was in the right place to prod home after Jaka Bijol. Once again VAR had a long check for a potential offside but this time Brentford benefited from the fine margins.
Leeds got a deserved equaliser in the 82nd minute of the game when substitute Will Gnonto whipped in a cross towards Calvert-Lewin, who timed his jump perfectly to head into the corner. That's now four goals in four for the striker who is helping Daniel Farke's mini revival.
The game eventually finished 1-1 which means Brentford move above Bournemouth ahead of their game against Manchester United tomorrow. Meanwhile Leeds United are now three points clear of West Ham United after the Hammers lost to Aston Villa earlier today.
