Castellón ‘to target’ Xabi Goikoetxea for B-team survival push | OneFootball

CD Castellón are moving to reinforce their reserve side as the winter window nears its end. According to Noticias de Navarra, they are looking at Multivera striker Xabi Goikoetxea, 23.

Goikoetxea is playing his first season in Segunda Federación with Multivera after leading the Navarre group in Tercera RFEF last term for Valle de Egües with 19 goals.

Several clubs in the area approached him in the summer, though he opted for Multivera. Interest from Castellón could be another step in his development.

A classic number nine, he excels in physical duels and finishing. He struck twice in a 3-2 defeat against Real Zaragoza’s reserve side in his last match.

If a move materialises, he would bolster Óscar López’s team for the remainder of the campaign in their survival bid. He could form a partnership with the Onda forward Carlos Segura, who has 12 goals and is the second top scorer in Group III.
