CD Castellón B end training amid uncertainty after relegation | OneFootball

CD Castellón B have wrapped up training for 2025/26 after a painful finish, the side relegated from Segunda Federación to Tercera Federación.

El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that planning and restructuring now begin, covering both the squad and coaching staff. There will be many departures, with some youngsters to continue in the next project.

Head coach Óscar López was absent from the final sessions. Luis Cubero, who led the Juvenil A in the second half of the campaign, took charge of a group mixing B-team players with prospects from Juvenil A and B.

On Wednesday and Thursday several youngsters ended the sessions in tears. For some, it was their last training with CD Castellón B before they pursue new challenges at other clubs.

Attention now shifts to building the 2026/27 squad. Decisions are due on who stays, who leads the team, and which Juvenil A players step up, along with potential signings. One is clear, the Pontevedra midfielder Manu Portela, from Villarreal C.
