In a recent report on Substack, journalist Mark Brus claimed that Chelsea are keen on landing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers this summer. It has been revealed that the Blues are eyeing a move to secure the services of the English playmaker in this transfer window.

Rogers’ Good Form In The Premier League

The 23-year-old had a productive campaign at the West Midlands club as he put in a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. Rogers played in 55 matches for Aston Villa last season, scoring 14 goals and securing 12 assists across all competitions.

The England international is currently one of the best playmakers in the Premier League. Hence, Chelsea would do well to get him on board later this year.

Rogers’ current contract at Villa Park will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for the Blues to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

What Will Rogers Bring To Chelsea?

Rogers can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range. He has got the eye to play some killer passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The English sensation is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Rogers is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a winger on either flank if told to do so. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Stamford Bridge.

We can expect Rogers to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso’s frontline. He is good enough to nail down a regular starting role at the West London club next season.

At 23, Rogers has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Blues to pursue in this summer transfer window. He will also help Chelsea compete for a European place in the Premier League in the coming years.
