Chelsea defender Brooke Aspin has re-joined Bristol City on a permanent deal.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club X account this evening.

The 21-year-old returns to Ashton Gate for her third spell with Bristol City. Aspin initially joined the Bristol City academy at the age of just 14 and she successfully negotiated her way to the senior squad. The defender helped The Robins to win the Barclays WSL2 title in 2022/2023.

Aspin’s performances for Bristol City in the second tier resulted in her being snapped up by Chelsea. The youngster immediately returned to Bristol City on loan to further her development while she spent some of the 2024/2025 season on loan at Crystal Palace.

Back at Chelsea, Aspin has not had the opportunity to really show what she can do. This has been partly due to competition for places but also, she has had rotten luck with long-term injury. The England Under-23 international will now be hoping to shine once again with Bristol City.

After returning to Bristol City, Aspin said “I’m always willing to put success into the club and I want to get the club back into the WSL, so that’s why I’m going for it.”

Aspin is Bristol City’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
