The London is Blue podcast have been looking back at the Cole Palmer chance which was missed right at the end of the Leeds game which would have won it.

Cole Palmer can’t believe he’s missed the chance.
“Cole Palmer, 100% should score the game winner with the last kick of that game with that chance,” presenter Nick Verlaney said.
“The xG on that shot is 0.87. It’s effectively as good as a penalty shot, from a guy who doesn’t miss penalties. It’s insane. But credit to Palmer, who comes out at the end of the game and says ‘this is entirely on me’.
“You have nothing to apologise to the fans for. You have 83 goal contributions in your first 101 games for Chelsea. I think we’re all going to give you a little bit of slack – because you’ve earned that!”
Damn right. We hate players apologising in 90% of circumstances, and this is the most obvious of all. Palmer could miss one of those chances per game for the rest of the season and he’d still be in credit. Let’s not forget, in this game alone he assisted one goal and scored the other.
You can see their discussion in the clip embedded here:
Marc Cucurella’s hamstring injury has already ruled him out for tomorrow’s game – now everyone wants to know just how bad it is. He is having an MRI today, with Spanish sources already fearing the worst for the full back.
Atletico Madrid have been linked with a summer move for Pedro Neto, but at the moment the main transfer sources are saying that’s unlikely. We certainly don’t see the reported £80m price as realistic – although if it was, Chelsea would have a hard time saying no to such a profit.
