Chelsea are leading the race to sign Bournemouth star Alex Scott, per The Telegraph.
The Blues had a £60 million bid rejected for Scott last summer, but they remain interested in signing him this winter.
Bournemouth have no intention to part with their prized asset, but their negotiating position is not strong.
Scott’s current contract will expire in June 2028 and he has rejected multiple extension offers from the Cherries.
If the 23-year-old remains firm on his stance, the south coast club may be forced to consider offers to avoid losing leverage.
Chelsea are looking to strengthen their midfield after selling Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City in the summer.
They believe Scott to be an ideal option, who is a highly gifted and versatile midfielder renowned for his press resistance and ball-carrying ability.
Chelsea face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal who have also shown an interest in the England international.
Scott has emerged as one of the most talented Premier League midfielders in the last few years.
Last season, he featured in 37 league games helping Bournemouth secure a sixth-place finish to qualify for the Europa League for the first time in the club’s 127-year history.
Scott made his full debut for England in Saturday’s 7-0 drubbing of Croatia. His assured performance in midfield received glowing reviews from everyone.
