Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos says he is relishing competing with and learning from Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
Santos joined Chelsea in 2023 but spent last year on loan at French side Strasbourg where he impressed.
He has played a part in the Blues’ first team under Enzo Maresca this season, featuring 13 times in all competitions.
The midfielder has had to bide his time and has made several of his appearances off the bench due to the performances of Caicedo and Fernandez, but Santos says he is loving the experience of playing with the duo.
“I think it helps a lot because when the squad is strong, it ends up pulling everyone up,” he said.
“Of course, my competition is very tough, with Enzo (Fernandez) and Moi (Caicedo), who are now among the top midfielders in the Premier League, doing a great job.
“I believe the learning I’m getting from them is essential. We are very close, we’re always together. So I think this exchange, let’s say, that I’m having with them, is helping me mature a lot.
“And of course, it’s that famous healthy competition. And we always want the best for Chelsea, which is our team. I know that this competition will keep raising the level more and more.”
