Valencia are set to receive a financial boost that could strengthen their pursuit of Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani, who has emerged as one of the club’s priority targets this summer.

After slipping down the pecking order at Elland Road, Ramazani spent last season on loan in Spain with Valencia, enduring a quiet start before finding his rhythm as the campaign progressed.

He featured in 31 matches, scoring six goals and providing two assists, with Valencia now keen to secure him on a permanent deal.

Daniel Farke left him behind at Thorp Arch rather than taking him on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, and with his future increasingly uncertain, the Belgian winger is equally keen on a return to Mestalla.

The stumbling block for Los Che has been financial constraints, while Leeds are believed to be holding out for a club with greater financial capacity to meet their valuation.

However, according to Spanish programme Tribuna Deportiva, Valencia could soon receive a financial lift that would strengthen their chances of landing the Leeds attacker.

Los Che have been given the green light from their owner in Singapore to activate a mechanism that could increase their financial fair play margin for this season and the next by up to €17.5m per campaign.

Should La Liga approve the club’s request, the Spanish side would have significantly greater flexibility in the transfer market and be well placed to complete a deal for the 25-year-old.

Since arriving at Elland Road from Almería, the Belgian winger has made more than 30 appearances for the Whites, but his departure would not leave a major void as he no longer appears central to the club’s long-term plans.

Leeds have further strengthened their wide areas this summer, with Harry Wilson already arriving to bolster the wing department in what has been tipped as a shrewd piece of business.

As for Ramazani’s future, it remains to be seen whether he will be back at Mestalla next season, with a deal between the two clubs still needing to be agreed before the transfer deadline.
