According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the RFEF disciplinary committee has rejected CD Castellón's appeals, leaving Jeremy Mellot banned for one match and head coach Pablo Hernández for two.

The rulings follow the defeat to Racing Santander, when referee Lax Franco dismissed the right-back and the coach in a fraught contest. Castellón challenged both red cards.

In Mellot's case, the club argued the incident deemed a last man denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity occurred far from the penalty area, so it should not qualify as such.

For Hernández, who was dismissed for telling the referee it was a disgrace, the club maintained his words fell within freedom of expression and did not amount to disrespect.

As a result, Mellot will sit out Saturday's meeting with Real Sociedad B, and Hernández will not be on the bench in Gijón for the following round against Sporting.
