He outlined a preference for variety in one position, arguing that different profiles raise the team’s tactical richness. Short full-backs who can also play centrally, plus attack-minded options capable of covering the flank, were cited as examples.

Those who came closest included the young Andrés García, whom Bordalás has mostly used up front at Getafe, and Meunier, a veteran wing-back with a clear attacking bent. On Maffeo, he noted that registration is still pending, and he expects it to arrive. Availability remains uncertain, but if the licence is issued he will be named in the squad. Maffeo arrived in the early hours, underwent medical tests, then trained with the team in the morning.
