Corinthians confirm youth director exit under Augusto Melo

Corinthians officially announced, at the beginning of the evening this Thursday, October 16, the departure of the youth academy executive Alex Brasil. The professional was hired in September 2024, still under the administration of the ousted president Augusto Melo, who recruited 87 athletes for the club's youth categories – considering the U-17 and U-20 – and had Claudinei Alves as general director.

Central do Timão learned that the decision was made by president Osmar Stabile this Thursday. The president aims to promote a restructuring of the department. Since the end of May, the Corinthians youth department has had Carlos Alberto Aurrichio, known as Nenê do Posto, as general director.

According to Meu Timão and confirmed by Central do Timão, Auricchio approved of Alex Brasil's work, who was not a consensus among the top leadership at Corinthians, largely due to his connection with the previous board.

Meu Timão also reported that the high termination fee of the professional was a factor that influenced the possibility of keeping him in the role. Corinthians is expected to bring in a replacement for the position. It is worth noting that this week, the Alvinegro also announced the departure of coach Raphael Laruccia from the U-17 team.

In recent months, the former technical and transition coordinators, the ex-defenders Batata and Chicão, have also left the Corinthians youth system.
