Corinthians’ turmoil intensified as judge and former councillor Leandro Cano filed to suspend and expel Romeu Tuma Júnior and Osmar Stabile. He lodged the petition with the club’s Ethics and Discipline Commission.
According to Meu Timao, the document seeks a disciplinary case, precautionary removal from office, later dismissal and expulsion from the membership.
For Tuma Júnior, Cano cites public accusations against the Executive Board during statute-reform debates without pursuing internal discipline. He recalls the Deliberative Council’s 115-15 vote on 23 March to suspend him, later annulled in court, and alleges uneven handling of several cases from the May 2025 invasion.
Against Stabile, three impeachment requests are listed. They cite using the social club as collateral in a R$ 1.2 billion PGFN deal and hiring Mega Assessoria Operacional for more than R$ 676,000, a contract now under investigation by São Paulo’s public prosecutor.
The petition also flags an institutional note supportive of an official in the ‘Caso Nike’, said to mirror the defence of licensed second vice-president Armando Mendonça. It records a criminal inquiry into Bear Security opened this week and alleges club payments of R$ 586,987.65, and notes the push to approve 2025 accounts with a R$ 143.4 million deficit.
Cano argues there are strong indications and that delay would harm the club, so he asks for both men to be removed pending an Ethics verdict. He previously sought MP-SP intervention over alleged flaws in March’s meeting to vote on Tuma Júnior’s suspension.
