Corinthians face Joaçaba in the Desafio Internacional de Futsal final on Sunday at 18:30, at the Centro de Eventos da UNOESC in Joaçaba, Santa Catarina.

According to Meu Timao, Fernando Malafaia's side reached the decider by beating Boca Juniors 1-0 on Saturday in a scrappy, contentious semi-final. The hosts then came from behind to defeat Cerro Porteño 4-3 at the same venue.

Before the final, Boca Juniors and Cerro Porteño meet for third place at 16:00, at the same centre. The tournament is part of Joaçaba's 109 years of political-administrative emancipation, marked on 25 August.

This is not Corinthians' first commemorative fixture this season. In March they faced Clube Atlético Guarany of Espumoso to mark the club's 70th anniversary, then in May they played Seleção Liga Candanga in a tribute to former player Rafael Rocha, known as Rato. They won both.

For the final, Corinthians will be without head coach Fernando Malafaia on the bench and without Renatinho on court. Malafaia was sent off against Boca Juniors, while the winger also saw red after a scuffle in the semi.

Daniel Magalhães is expected to lead from the sideline, with no major structural changes anticipated. The likely five are Lucas Oliveira, Lucas Martins, Maicon, Paiva and Fabinho.
