Corinthians have missed September's image-rights payment to the men's squad, leaving two months now in arrears.

According to Globo.com, the instalments fall due on day 20 of each month, and with insufficient cash the board did not pay by last Monday. August's image rights were already outstanding, as were part of holidays and bonuses.

There is no timeframe to settle the arrears. Each month of image rights costs around R$ 10 million, forming part of higher earners' remuneration.

The club delayed the CLT salary for September by a week, then cleared it hours before a decisive Conmebol Libertadores quarter-final against Estudiantes. Corinthians were eliminated after a home defeat to the Argentines.

The financial crisis is stark, with a R$ 246 million deficit in the first half of the year, 78.2% worse than the R$ 138.028 million loss forecast for January to June.

Corinthians have been barred from registering players since 21 May, the first of three transfer bans currently in effect, and debts total about R$ 21.5 million.
