Nottingham Forest have targeted 20-year-old midfielder André Luiz, with Corinthians aiming for a deal that could be worth up to £21m for their 70 per cent stake.

According to Meu Timao, the club want an initial £15m plus up to £6m in add-ons tied to individual and team targets at Nottingham Forest and Corinthians.

Corinthians would prefer to keep him until the end of 2026, either via a loan or by finalising any sale in 2027. Loans are currently impossible because of three transfer bans. They are open to an immediate move if Forest push, with the 2026/27 season having begun last weekend.

Club finances could force compromise. The board may accept £13m guaranteed plus £5m in bonuses, while the budget outlines a need to raise up to R$ 150m from player rights sales by season’s end.

André Luiz debuted for the first team in September 2025 in a 1-0 win over Fluminense under Dorival Júnior. He has played 47 times, including 31 starts, with seven goals and two assists. He was part of the Copa do Brasil 2025 and Supercopa do Brasil 2026 triumphs, featuring in both finals.

This season he had established himself under Fernando Diniz before suffering a grade two right hamstring injury on six August. He has been sidelined since, but began ball work with physiotherapists last Wednesday.
