Memphis Depay is expected to renew his Corinthians contract, with the club moving to finalise the deal and clearing him to train at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on Tuesday.

According to Meu Timao, the agreement could be signed tonight, though a work visa issue remains. His permit expires on Thursday, 20 August, the day Corinthians face Rosario Central.

The club must renew the visa with the Ministry of Labour, which requires a signed contract. If they miss the deadline, issuing a new document would take 15 days.

The club’s advisory board, the Conselho de Orientação (Cori), gave a green light on Monday after a meeting requested by president Osmar Stabile over the weekend. Cori is consultative and cannot block board decisions, with the final call resting with Stabile’s administration, which favours the forward’s stay.

Talks resumed after the club said last week it did not intend to renew, amid heavy fan pressure that included leaked personal data and protests outside Stabile’s home. The terms are expected to mirror those discussed last week, keeping an option to extend by up to two more seasons.

Meanwhile, sponsor Fatal Fans mobilised other partners and signalled a potential add-on worth up to R$ 10 million if others also contribute.
