According to Meu Timao, Corinthians returned from their break on Wednesday morning at CT Joaquim Grava, starting preparations to face Internacional on 7 October in the Brasileirão.
The session began with strength work in the gym. After a pitch warm-up focused on possession and coordination, players were split into three teams of nine for small-sided games. Fernando Diniz emphasised duels and pressing after turnovers.
The key update was Gabriel Paulista’s progress from a medial collateral ligament sprain in his right knee. He started the physical transition and joined in partially with the group. He is now at the same stage as Yuri Alberto, still in partial transition after a fibrous tissue rupture in the back of his thigh.
There is hope both could return for the match in Porto Alegre. Images also showed Matheus Bidu involved, although he has suffered pubic pain since July, and post-season surgery has not been ruled out.
The squad have held five sessions during this international break, with Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho and Breno Bidon away with Brazil, and André Carrillo with Peru.
Internacional host Corinthians at Beira-Rio next Wednesday at 19:30 in round 29. Corinthians are on a run of six straight league defeats and sit 14th on 32 points.
