Corinthians set for Estudiantes in Libertadores quarter-finals on nine and 16 September | OneFootball

Corinthians will face Estudiantes in the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals on nine and 16 September, two Wednesdays in succession.

According to Meu Timao, the first leg is at Estádio Jorge Luis Hirschi and the return at Neo Química Arena, both kicking off at 21:30. The games will be shown on TV Globo, getv on YouTube and Paramount+, with ESPN and Disney+ carrying them elsewhere in South America.

Corinthians earned home advantage by topping Group E with 11 points, while Estudiantes advanced as runners-up in Group A with nine.

In the last 16, Corinthians ousted Rosario Central. The first leg at the Gigante de Arroyito finished 0-0, then, despite playing with ten men from early in the second half, Memphis Depay and Breno Bidon combined to score and seal progression in Itaquera.

Estudiantes booked their place two days earlier, beating Universidad Católica of Chile 3-0 in the return after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

Should they progress, Corinthians would meet the winners of Independiente del Valle and Flamengo in the semi-finals. A potential final could pit them against Fluminense, Palmeiras, Platense of Argentina or LDU of Ecuador.

This is Corinthians’ sixth Libertadores quarter-final, following runs in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2012 and 2022. They advanced twice and went out three times, with 2012 beginning by overcoming Vasco da Gama and ending in an unbeaten title.

Before returning to continental duty, Fernando Diniz’s side host Santos on Sunday at 16:00 at Neo Química Arena in the 25th round of the Brasileiro.
