Zakaria Labyad extends Corinthians deal to 2027 after knee surgery | OneFootball

Corinthians have extended Moroccan midfielder Zakaria Labyad’s contract until December 2027 as he recovers from a serious left-knee injury, according to Globo.com.

He joined in February on the recommendation of forward Memphis Depay, initially on a deal to the end of this year with an automatic extension clause linked to targets.

Labyad suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture and meniscus damage in his left knee during a match against Athletico-PR in July, then underwent surgery.

The renewal, which rules him out for the season, was recorded on Monday in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário.

Since arriving, he has played 18 times for Corinthians, totalling 558 minutes, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He had been earning more minutes under coach Fernando Diniz when the injury struck.
