Corinthians have signed a pre-contract with Lingard and are awaiting his medical before announcing the deal, ge.globo reports.
He is expected in São Paulo on Sunday. The English midfielder is due to take tests on Monday and, if he passes, would sign to the end of 2026.
Out of contract since the turn of the year, he left FC Seoul after two seasons. Signed in February 2024, he recorded 19 goals and 10 assists in 66 official games.
A Manchester United academy graduate, he can play centrally or wide. He made 235 United appearances with 35 goals and 21 assists, and won four trophies. He also has 32 England caps, featuring at the 2018 World Cup.
He had early loans, then a sustained run for United between 2015 and 2020, and joined Nottingham Forest in 2022.
If confirmed, he would reunite with Memphis Depay, a United team-mate from 2015 to 2017. The pair shared the pitch 22 times.
Corinthians have already added six players this season, including Gabriel Paulista, Matheus Pereira and Allan, and confirmed the return of left-back Fabrizio Angileri.
The squad are in Novo Horizonte for the Paulista semi-final. Corinthians visit Novorizontino on Saturday at 20:30 at the Jorge Ismael de Biasi, seeking a place in the final.
