Craig Bellamy has named Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Dan James to start Wales’ friendly in Romania, with Karl Darlow on the bench and Danny Ward in goal.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Bellamy’s latest selection concerns a Leeds United quintet, with young full-back Jayden Lienou part of the squad after his first senior call-up.

On Tuesday, Ampadu, Rodon, Darlow and James all started the 2-2 draw against Ghana, while Lienou was unused.

The four senior Leeds men suffered play-off heartbreak in March, missing this summer’s competition after a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia Herzegovina in the qualifying play-off final.

Elsewhere at the club, Leeds have four players bound for the World Cup, Brenden Aaronson with USA, Gabi Gudmundsson with Sweden, Noah Okafor with Switzerland and Ao Tanaka with Japan.

Wales conclude their June friendlies against Romania at the Stadionul Steaua in Bucharest ahead of the Euro 2028 qualifying campaign.
