According to NY Times, Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Anan Khalaili from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Israel international, 21, moves to south London for around £21 million. He has signed a five-year deal to 2031, with an option for a further 12 months.

The sale is a record for the Belgian club, surpassing the €22.8 million, £19.5 million, Benfica paid for Franjo Ivanovic last summer.

Khalaili was part of the RUSG side that won the Belgian league in his first season, the club’s first title in 90 years. He featured in the Champions League the following year, scoring three times in eight matches.

He made 52 appearances in all competitions, scoring six and providing six assists. A right-sided player, he can operate at wing-back or as a winger.

The Athletic previously reported that Nottingham Forest and Inter Milan were close to deals for Khalaili, with Bournemouth and Newcastle United also interested.

He becomes Palace’s fourth signing of the summer, following free-transfer arrivals of defenders Oscar Mingueza and Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Dwight McNeil, who joined in the deal that saw Brennan Johnson leave for Everton.
