Curaçao have named a 26-man squad for their first World Cup, to be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July. According to L'Équipe, the group features many naturalised Dutch players.
The announcement came on Monday after an internal wrangle that led to head coach Dick Advocaat returning three months after stepping aside to care for his ill daughter.
Brothers Juninho Bacuna, 28 with 47 caps, and Leandro Bacuna, 34 with 68 caps, are included after careers that have taken them to Huddersfield, Rangers and Aston Villa. They are set to guide an inexperienced squad alongside defender Armando Obispo of PSV Eindhoven, forward Tahith Chong, formerly of Manchester United, Werder Bremen and Bruges, and defender Riechedly Bazoer, an Ajax academy graduate with stints at Porto and Wolfsburg.
Elsewhere, the selection includes Ar'Jany Martha of Rotherham and Gervane Kastaneer, now playing in Malaysia at 29. Jürgen Locadia of Miami FC is among the attacking options.
Curaçao are in Group E, facing Germany on 14 June at 19:00 French time in Houston, Ecuador on 21 June at 2:00 in Kansas City and Côte d'Ivoire on 25 June at 22:00 in Philadelphia.
