Fontana de Trevelin are finalising preparations for Sunday’s home debut against Estudiantes Unidos de Bariloche in the Torneo Regional Federal Amateur, with the pitch dependent on the weather. According to SuperDepor.com, recent work has been hampered by winter conditions and limited game time.

Training began in mid-June with an emphasis on fitness and gym work under conditioning coach Nahuel Bustamante. Match minutes have been scarce due to the climate.

A couple of friendlies were staged on Belgrano’s synthetic turf, which plays differently. On Sunday a run-out at Fontana’s ground found it wet and soft, affecting players’ footing, and the hope is for drying conditions before the opener.

Club president César Muñoz is leading efforts to secure reinforcements. Fontana are the sole representatives of the Liga de Fútbol del Oeste del Chubut in Zone 7 of Patagonia, alongside Estudiantes Unidos, Cruz del Sur and Puerto Moreno.

Available to Daniel Monsalve are Chiqui Di Prinzio and Lucas Forciatti, both from San Martín, Fernando “Nano” Nahuelfil, back after Esquel, and Axel Linda, returning from Rawson. Josué Baldebenito and Bennet Jones have arrived from Belgrano.

Further additions being pursued include Sebastián Barrera and Luciano Oberti on trial agreements to bolster the attack. Monsalve’s focus is sharpening the forward line’s presence in the box, with defence and midfield offering settled options.

In goal, the staff will decide between Dylan Podymski, Sebastián “Tito” Ruiz and Bennet Jones in the coming days, together with goalkeeping coach Héctor Prieto. Trevelin’s support has been notable in recent friendlies, and Monsalve expects a strong turnout for the home bow.
