West Bromwich Albion defender Darnell Furlong has taken to Instagram to share his thoughts on the club’s latest display in the Championship.

After suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea City earlier this month, the Baggies managed to get back on track last weekend by beating Bristol City at The Hawthorns.

Jordan Hugill opened the scoring for West Brom in the seventh-minute of the game as he fired home from Furlong’s cross.

Furlong then set up the Baggies’ second goal as Kyle Bartley planted a header past goalkeeper Dan Bentley from the defender’s long throw.

Following the break, Karlan Grant added a third for West Brom as they cruised to victory in-front of their own supporters.

Currently third in the Championship, the Baggies will leapfrog Fulham in the standings if they beat Marco Silva’s side at Craven Cottage this weekend.

Having provided two assists for his side in their showdown with the Robins, Furlong will be brimming with confidence heading into Saturday’s match.

Reflecting on his side’s latest triumph on Instagram, the defender has admitted that it was a big result for his side.

“Big 3 points at home!”

The Verdict

When you consider that West Brom are set to face a Fulham side who are also looking to launch a push for promotion this season, they clearly needed to secure a morale-boosting victory heading into this clash.

Therefore, last weekend’s triumph over the Robins may have provided the Baggies with the confidence that they need to pick up a positive result against the Cottagers.

Furlong will be tasked with providing creativity as well as some defensive support from his wing-back role on Saturday.

Particularly impressive against Nigel Pearson’s side, the 25-year-old managed to record a WhoScored match rating of 8.42 in this clash as he won three aerial duels and created two goals for his team-mates.

By replicating this display in the club’s meeting with Fulham, Furlong may be able to help his side seal all three points at Craven Cottage.
