David Corrêa was interviewed by police in Leblon on Monday after search warrants were served, then returned to Vasco’s CT Moacyr Barbosa and trained as normal. The action is part of an interstate drugs and arms inquiry led by Espírito Santo’s civil police.

Vasco da Gama said it is cooperating with the authorities and is awaiting the conclusion of the investigations.

The forward was alone at home and accompanied the searches. Officers seized a mobile phone, computers and documents.

Police arrived at the facility before the start of the morning session, and players and staff came in while officers were still present.

At the training centre, agents examined his belongings in the dressing room, where only boots were found. They were received by technical director Felipe Maestro and football manager Clauber Rocha.

The search began at his residence, after which he drove his own car to the club’s base to follow the checks. He declined to comment when leaving.

The operation is being conducted simultaneously across several states, mobilising about 100 civil police, more than 38 vehicles and two helicopters in a coordinated interstate effort. It is a joint action by state civil police to carry out court measures and tackle criminal organisations operating across state lines.
