Spain's first squad since lifting a second world title keeps faith with the World Cup group. Inter Milan keeper Josep Martínez is named as third choice due to Joan Garcia's knee problem, leaving Álex Remiro omitted again. Mikel Oyarzabal stays in.
According to Diario Vasco, Jon Martín is with the under-21s for the final Euro 2027 qualifiers. Four from the World Cup group are missing in this new cycle, Joan Garcia, Marcos Llorente, Gavi and Borja Iglesias. Llorente recently announced his international retirement.
Spain have four Nations League Group A games, starting against England at Wembley on Saturday 26. Three days later they host Croatia at the Sánchez Pizjuán, a first game with two stars and a sell-out.
The window then moves to Oviedo for the Czech Republic on Saturday three October at a sold-out Carlos Tartiere. It closes on Tuesday six with another meeting with Croatia in Split. Clubs, including Real Sociedad, will watch for injuries.
Beyond Oyarzabal and Jon Martín, Zubieta provides more internationals. Take Kubo joins Japan for home friendlies with Uruguay on 24 September, Venezuela on 28 and Ecuador on one October, despite a quiet start without goals or assists.
Jon Aramburu and Yangel Herrera link up with Venezuela's Asian tour, facing Japan on 28 September, South Korea on two October and Jordan on six.
Orri Óskarsson is in Iceland's Nations League League C squad, with Estonia and Luxembourg on 26 and 29 September, then Bulgaria on three October and Estonia again in Tallinn on six.
