Born in Alzira on 27 May 1998, Martínez came through Alzira before joining Barcelona’s youth sides. He turned down a renewal and moved to Las Palmas Atlético, later stepping up to the first team in Spain’s Segunda División.

In 2020 he joined RB Leipzig and won the German Cup. He moved to Italy in 2022, impressed at Genoa until 2024, then signed for Inter.

In May 2026 he lifted the Coppa Italia against Lazio after goals from Lautaro Martínez and an Adam Maruric own goal. He started ahead of Sommer and kept a clean sheet.

Inter also clinched the 2025/2026 Serie A title with a 2-0 win over Parma on matchday 35, through Marcus Thuram and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Internationally, Martínez debuted for Spain Under-21s on three September 2020, then won his first senior cap on eight June 2021 in a 4-0 win over Lithuania, when Hugo Guillamón scored first.
