Denmark head coach Brian Riemer has addressed the call-ups of Alexander Bah and Victor Froholdt for September and October Nations League fixtures, explaining why both are ready despite recent absences for Benfica and FC Porto.

According to O Jogo, Bah had been recovering from a right shoulder trauma, while Froholdt was following post-concussion protocol, which kept them out of their clubs' recent matches.

Riemer said Bah's status was uncertain a few days ago, but after constant dialogue with Benfica and direct contact with the player, he has returned to full training and is ready.

On Froholdt, the coach said they stayed in close contact over the head-injury protocol used in international football, the midfielder progressed well throughout and the staff had no doubts about his readiness.

Bah trained with Benfica on Tuesday but did not travel to Italy, where they face Milan on Wednesday in the Europa League's league phase opener, and is instead targeting Sunday's O Clássico with FC Porto at 20:30. Froholdt took part in a modified session with Porto.
