Derek Conelius, Amine Gouiri and Himad Abdelli injuries leave OM stretched | OneFootball

OM face a growing injury list during the international break, with Himad Abdelli joining Derek Cornelius and Amine Gouiri on the treatment table. According to L'Équipe, Bruno Genesio has had to pad out sessions with youngsters at La Commanderie.

The Canada defender sustained a significant hip injury in training last week and is out until the end of the year, with his return plan to follow. Gouiri has a minor thigh issue and left Algeria camp as a precaution after Friday’s 3-1 win over Zambia.

Back in Marseille, Gouiri is receiving treatment and, for now, his involvement at Troyes on 11 October is not currently in doubt. Abdelli hurt his left ankle against Burundi on Tuesday, a 2-2 draw, and as of Wednesday evening no decision had been taken, though an early return was being considered.

With several players still away, including Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg with Denmark, Nayef Aguerd with Morocco and Kelyann Bezahaf with Algeria’s under-23s, numbers are tight.

There is some relief as Tochukwu Nnadi has rejoined full training after a knee problem. Amine Harit remains out with a minor muscular issue, while Geoffrey Kondogbia continues his reconditioning for a return to the group in the coming days. OM are about to embark on eight matches in 29 days.
