Dieng brace earns Lorient a point after first-minute shock | OneFootball

Lorient 2-2 Auxerre at Stade du Moustoir as Bamba Dieng hit a first half brace, the result nudging the hosts down to 10th in Ligue 1.

In the first minute, Marvin Senaya finished from close range after Sinaly Diomande's headed pass from a corner to stun the hosts. Dieng levelled after a pass from Darline Yongwa (19.).

Josué Casimir restored the visitors' lead on a fast break (24.), created by Danny Namaso. Dieng then glanced in a header from a Pablo Pagis cross after a set piece to equalise again (29.).

After the restart, Yvon Mvogo parried Lassine Sinayoko's rising effort (67.). Donovan Leon then saved Jean‑Victor Makengo's low strike from distance (69.). In the fourth minute of second half stoppage time, Leon tipped away Panos Katseris' header from an Arthur Avom cross.

With Arthur Avom and Dermane Karim on in the second half, Lorient carried the late threat and forced Auxerre back.

Five minutes were added at the end of the first half after earlier treatment stoppages.

Lorient registered 15 attempts with five on target. Auxerre created 10 attempts, three on target.

Auxerre remain 16th in the relegation play-offs. Next, Lorient host Nice in the Coupe de France quarter-finals, while Auxerre welcome Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
