Dínamo explain move after returning Plata to Flamengo and Matheus Martins to Botafogo | OneFootball

Dínamo Moscow issued a statement on Wednesday after abandoning transfers for Gonzalo Plata and Matheus Martins. The club said the deals would not proceed, citing long-term interests, and gave no further detail.

The message appeared on the Russian club’s official website. Both players were not approved in medical examinations in Moscow.

Plata was the first to head back. Sold last week for about 10 million euros (R$ 60.1 million), the Ecuador forward travelled on Saturday and was announced by the Russian club, then failed his medical. He will be reintegrated with Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.

Later, Matheus Martins was also not cleared in Dínamo’s medical tests. Botafogo and the Russian side had agreed a 7 million euro fee (R$ 42.4 million). He now returns to the Botafogo squad.

Flamengo and Botafogo have denied any clinical issues with their attackers and are assessing possible measures for redress. Flamengo went further, accusing the Russian club of being amateur and irresponsible.
