Dominik Livakovic starts Barcelona training amid registration concerns | OneFootball

FC Barcelona enjoyed another encouraging win in La Liga last night as they faced Athletic Club in their first game of the new season at the Spotify Camp Nou. Raphinha and Fermin Lopez scored the two goals to give their team a 2-0 win.

However, there is no time to lose, as the Catalans have their next match scheduled in only three days, when they will face Rayo Vallecano on this coming Monday.

As MARCA has reported, Hansi Flick had all the available players back training at the Ciutat Esportiva to prepare for this game, and the main novelty of the session was the presence of the goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.

The Croat signed for Barcelona only yesterday, and watched the game against Athletic Club from the stands. He reported for training today, on Friday, even though this was a special training session, that varied in intensity, as is frequently the case after games.

The players who had played a prominent role in the last night’s game worked mostly in the gym during this session, while others, with Livakovic among them, trained at the Tito Vilanova training ground pitch.

For now, the Croatian goalkeeper still has his future somewhat uncertain. After having signed him, the Catalans are yet to register him with La Liga. If they are unable to do so because of FFP problems, they would look to send him on loan before the transfer window closes.

However, if they are able to register him, he will stay with the team and would be the second-choice goalkeeper for Hansi Flick, behind Joan Garcia and ahead of Wojciech Szczesny. As things stand, it seems likely that he will continue with the Blaugrana team.

Meanwhile, another young goalkeeper, Eder Aller, also trained with the Barcelona first team, as did Hamza Abdelkarim and Brian Farinas.
