Dylan Levitt to Millwall: What do we know so far? Is a transfer likely to happen? | OneFootball

Millwall are interested in bringing in ball-playing midfielder Dylan Levitt from Dundee United, according to Alan Nixon’s Patreon.

The 13-time Wales international is in Qatar with Rob Page’s squad and will be aiming to play some part in the Dragons’ remaining group games against Iran and England.

A product of the Manchester United academy, Levitt made his first permanent move away from Old Trafford this summer, having previously spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic, NK Istra, in the Croatian top-flight, and Dundee United.

There are some similarities between Levitt and a deep-lying playmaker like Ryan Woods who was on the books at The Den in the 2020/21 season.

What do we know so far?

Levitt has been a key player for the Terrors, starting 13 of the 14 league games that he has been available for and chipping in with three goals and an assist from central midfield.

It feels like the most settled and valued that Levitt has been anywhere in his senior career to date, and for that reason, it would be a surprise to see the Terrors offload him so quickly.

The 22-year-old’s deal at Tannadice Park runs until the summer of 2024, and with that in mind, a decent fee would likely be required to prize him out of the Scottish Premiership and back to South London in January.

His loan spell at Charlton did not go to plan and that may put Levitt off returning to the area.

Given how well Levitt is performing at Dundee United, after taking a while to step up to senior level successfully, it will need to be the right move for him to jump ship in January.

The Lions have a lot of depth in central midfield areas and are currently only playing two out-and-out specialist players in that position, to give Zian Flemming freedom to operate as a number ten.

Therefore, in terms of the January window, it would probably be counter-productive for Levitt to move to Millwall where regular game-time may be hard to come by.

Although, with Dundee United potentially set to be involved in a battle against relegation to the Scottish Championship, a move may well be on the cards in the summer.
