According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, former owner Pascual Pérez has asked a court to impose a precautionary seizure of all Eldense shares after the non-payment of a 1,000,000 euro loan he advanced in December 2025 to current owner Carolina Holguín. The petition was filed on Friday.
If granted, the move would pause the preliminary agreement with Lionel Messi until the embargo is resolved. Messi’s lawyers are aware.
The claim, lodged at the Tribunal de Instancia de Alcobendas, followed unanswered burofax and electronic demands to Holguín and her husband and partner, Juan Carlos Trujillo. Holguín acknowledged a debt of 1,090,000 euros, extended to 30 June from 31 March.
Pérez’s representatives say the timing reflects procedural deadlines and follows failed talks. Holguín, represented by lawyer Javier Tebas Llanas, suggested assigning the credit so payment fell on completion day, but no written deal emerged.
Signed on 23 December 2025 with Holguín as personal debtor, the loan addressed liquidity issues after salary delays in October and November, though the club caught up early December. Of the sum, 998,000 euros was disbursed and is now claimed.
With no collateral, Pérez argues Holguín’s only known asset in Spain is Eldense’s shares, so he asks the court to notify the Consejo Superior de Deportes, which must authorise any transfer of the club. He says he is not trying to block a sale, only to secure repayment.
If the sale closes first, he seeks to seize Holguín’s right to the price and to retain up to 998,000 euros, plus interest and costs, in court.
