Elversberg sign Noel Futkeu on season-long loan with option to buy | OneFootball

Elversberg have completed the season-long loan of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Noel Futkeu, with an option to buy next summer. Sport Bild reports the club will pay about €1m for the loan, with a €6m clause to make the move permanent.

The deal follows Frankfurt activating a €1.3m buyback from Greuther Fürth earlier this summer, with the 23-year-old returning only briefly before moving on again.

Futkeu was the second division’s leading scorer last season with 19 league goals, including a decisive final-day strike against Fortuna Düsseldorf. Frankfurt did not plan to integrate the former Germany youth international into Adi Hütter’s first-team squad, and Elversberg offer him a Bundesliga opportunity.

He views the step up to the Bundesliga as the move he wanted, felt talks showed the club’s ideas matched his, and aims to settle quickly while contributing to a successful season.

The club regard him as a proven finisher who makes quick decisions in the box and works hard off the ball.

Futkeu scored 30 second-division goals across two seasons with Fürth, after 16 in 26 Regionalliga Südwest appearances for Eintracht’s reserves. He is yet to debut in the Bundesliga, having played only once for Frankfurt’s senior side in the DFB-Pokal, and will wear the number nine at Elversberg.
