Crystal Palace are prepared to sell Daniel Muñoz this summer, with a fee of around £25 million believed to be enough to get a deal done. Graeme Bailey reports that former Eagles manager Oliver Glasner, now at Nottingham Forest, is keen on a reunion with the Colombian. Everton are also firmly in the picture, continuing what has become a productive transfer relationship with Selhurst Park. Palace’s decision to move on from Muñoz follows the signing of Anan Khalaili, which has effectively made the 30-year-old wing-back surplus to requirements at SE25.

Everton’s right flank is dangerously exposed

Seamus Coleman is gone. Nathan Patterson isn’t in Moyes’s plans. That leaves a gaping hole at right-back, and Jake O’Brien, a natural centre-back, has been filling it. That’s not sustainable across a full Premier League campaign, and Moyes knows it.

Muñoz is the most sensible fix available. His 2025/26 numbers at Palace were genuinely impressive: 4 goals, 4 assists across 29 Premier League appearances, 27 chances created, 3.97 expected assists, and 1.8 successful tackles per 90 minutes. He also scored twice for Colombia at the 2026 World Cup before their Round of 16 exit to Switzerland. At £25 million for a player of that output and proven top-flight quality, Everton won’t find better value on the market.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Celtic‘s Alistair Johnston have both been looked at. Neither has come close to terms. Muñoz doesn’t just eclipse them on statistics. His positional profile fits Moyes’s system far more naturally, offering both the defensive grit and the delivery from wide areas that the system demands.

Glasner knows Muñoz inside out from their time together at Palace. Forest will move if Everton hesitate. Letting a rival sign a right-back of this calibre, after already having the established transfer line with Palace through the Brennan Johnson deal, would be an inexcusable piece of transfer business from the Toffees.
