On signing for City, Wallace said: "I am really proud and excited to be here. There is a huge opportunity for us this season to achieve something and I hope I can help the leaders here in the group already."

He added: "There will be plenty of ups and downs, so it is important the experienced players in the dressing room hold that together. I am looking forward to getting out there and meeting all the fans."

Robins manager Michael Skubala said: "We know what a brilliant player Jed is and to bring in someone of his quality who has played so much at the level is extremely positive."

Sporting director James Ellis added: "In our plan, it’s important we help balance our youthful group with players who understand what it takes at this level. Jed brings this in abundance."
